This assignment represents 100% of the assessment for coursework and is based on team working. For students registered on ELEC336 this is the total module assessment. For those pursuing ELEC333 there will be term 2 coursework plus a final examination in June.

You are required to form into research teams of 3-5. Then select a public company that is trading broadly within the telecommunications industry and is quoted on one of the major world stock markets (London, New York, Hong Kong, Japan etc.) You may select a company that trades on either the main market or subsidiaries such as the USM (unlisted securities market) or others such as the NASDAQ.

Research this company and produce a senior management briefing from your team with an absolute maximum word count of 200 words plus graphics contained within a single double-sided A4 sheet. No covers or bindings please just a single A4 sheet.

Your briefing should paint a clear and objective portrait of the company, which would enable a busy executive or investor to quickly and efficiently absorb the key issues that characterise the company. This information should provide adequate and credible intelligence for an initial investment decision to be made with confidence; “Invest –don’t invest etc”.

As a guide you may consider including some of the following:

Company size/workforce, Locations, Products, Markets
